Rare & Unusual Japanese Maples

A.p. ‘Koto no ito’

Name means ‘harp strings’.  Enchanting green linearilobum/strapleaf maple.  Highly sought after for its whimsical appearance.  Some leaf lobes are as thin as a piece of string, hence the name.  Light, soft green in spring and summer turning yellow, orange, and red in the fall.  Upright growth habit, but rarely exceeds ten feet in height at maturity.  Sun to part shade.

Drive through any neighborhood and chances are you'll see a few Japanese maples. The beauty of the trees combined with the ease of care for them makes the Japanese maple a popular landscape specimen. Many folks are happy with just about any variety, while others search for that "not so common" tree.

Our spotlight on more rare and unusual Japanese maples will help us to highlight those trees you cannot find at just any nursery. Rest assured, though, you can find these at Lashbrooke Nursery. We'll take a look at a different variety of Japanese maple, displaying photographs of the tree, as well as detailing specifics about the tree.
